LD - don't be stupid. The Twilight series has a fanbase made up of teenage and tween girls. It hardly appeals to any other age group, or even men. How is that cross over?

Honestly, I think the most successful book in that arena would be the Harry Potter series.
I would think that Twilight is a good book to span the ages. You have all of your younger fans who are close in age to the characters, but you also have the Twilight Moms out there who are quite often just as obsessed as the younger generation, if not more obsessed.
Probably the Harry Potter Series, and Tolkien's works, oh and the Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice, I was amazed at some of the people that I've met that are fans.
The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind and The Dark Tower series by Stephen King

Most of Stephen King's books do and Heart Shaped Box by his son Joe Hill does.
Out if the list there I haven't read/don't like the books except the Anne Rice books and I think I've 'grown out' of reading books about vampires.

I guess I'm the spanner in the works!
Wind in the willows
Alice in wonderland
Rupert the bear
Beatrix Potter
Whinnie the Pooh

I can still enjoy them 60 years later.
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, Robert M Pirsig.
Harry Potter!
Only the bible does darling lol.
